I'm dying to explain my heart to you now.

11/29/07

What can I say about this day? Malamig. It's true. It's been really cold lately and damn it, I can feel the Christmas spirit already! It's a downfall for my family to experience Christmas without Mom for the first time. Ever. It's going to be really weird waking up to a refrigerator without seeing piles and piles of her infamous Leche Flan. I MISS YOU MOM!

Getting back to my day, it was plain sabog. Everyone was disoriented with schoolworks including myself. Maybe that's the reason why our teachers suddenly hate our section.

Incident #1: TLE period. Mrs.Dultra. She was talking about the types of cakes and baking methods for our Cake Baking this quarter. Everyone was preoccupied with a lot of stuff and suddenly felt the urge to talk with their friends. Obviously it distracted/offended Mrs. Dultra because she gave a long speech about us being Juniors already and that we're still not disciplined enough. At the end, we made her cry. Don't get me wrong. It's not something to be proud of. It's just that..

Bakit kailangan wooden spatula ang gamit sa pag fold ng batter? :))

Incident #2: Soc Sci. Sir Rehoy. If you're in our section, you know that maybe in a week, we see Sir for 6 periods! So it's inevitable for us to get sick of all the History crap. So there was this period where at the end of it, he said: "Okay, mga anak. Alam kong ikatutuwa niyo dahil hindi tayo magkikita mamayang second period." So euphoria suddenly filled our mini classroom and you can see everyone was jumping up and down screaming 'Yeyy!!!!' at the top of our lungs. Apparently, he was offended by our act and again, gave us another sermon. Boo. Sorry, but I can't help it. I ust have to quote him:

"Siguro nga'y nakakasawa na si Ginoo ano?"
*silence*
"Siguro nga'y kasalanan ko rin na masyado akong naging malapit sa inyo..."
*silence*
"...ayon nga sa kanta ni Madonna na 'Borderline', pwede tayong lumapit dito ngunit wag na wag tayong lalagpas"
Person1: Pano nasama si Madonna sa usapan?!

Tama. Pano nga naman nasama si Madonna dito? Hahaha! And no guys, he's not an old teacher. He's just 20 y/o. So, just imagine that. MADONNA. IS. LOVE.

Nothing beats Soc Sci tests. Sarap lokohin.

Sir: Ano ang unang pamayanang itinayo ng France?

Hindi ko talaga alam. Sinulat ko Matutum. Tawa ng tawa si Rachel while checking my paper. AND- pinaglaban ko talaga sagot ko.

Me: SIR!! Hindi ba talaga MATUTUM? Alam ko talaga Matutum.

It's been a loong time since I've actually blogged and I tell you, many aspects of my life has slowly progressed. One of which is in my academics. These past few weeks, I've been semi-active in MOST subjects. Let's just crosss out Chemistry and Filipino on that one. Okay, okay. So I'm still not going to be an OS. OR- a POS. But at least I'm trying to make an effort on improving my grades which is a unfamiliar thing for me to do. Another aspect of my life that has gradually improved is my social skills. Kudos to our Interaction that just took place this Monday.(I'll get back to that in a separate blog. Hopefully.) It was a thousand chocolate better than last year.

STC's doing it's thing again. It's a long weekend and those three days aren't enough to finish the shitload they gave their students. Madness. I don't know when or how I will start with my load but I know it's not going to be today.(Said it like a true bum. Hurrah bums.) You seee Mrs. Blanco? This are my stressors in life! S-T-C. Nonetheless, I still appreciate(somehow) their efforts in molding their students the way they think a responsible woman in society should be. I honestly don't know if they're doing a very good job at what they're doing but let's just make them think they are, shall we?

Damn. I just realized I took my angst out again on STC.. Anyway Hemingway...

Have you ever felt bored inside the classroom? Ever experience seeing the teacher in front and..zzzz..your eyes involountarily shut? Suddenly, you hear your teacher speak in a slurry way? Every little thing that passes by, you look at? Kamusta naman at araw araw kong napagdadaanan yan? I just thought about it, me and my section always have our way of making time to laugh in the middle of Mean Deviation, Mag-Anak na Cruz, Merchant of Venice, Conjugate Acids and Isosceles Triangles. Whether it be making humorous side somments about the lesson or asking a thoughtless question to the teacher that will leave her/him in awe. Hahaha. I love you Section 3. Solid.

Define IRONIC and MALABO:

"Maglakad kayo ng patalikod na nakaharap!!"

"Tarantella is an Asian dance that originated in Italy."

-Mrs.De Lemos

The face behind the smart words. Isn't she so happy? :D And yes, that's her face while thinking for more smart words to say. Haha. Kidding.

*An Excerpt"

It was like being in a twilight zonewhen, fast forward, about a year ago, Ifound myself in socials – one afteranother – and every girl, I swear, would either be from Assumption or St.Scholastica or Poveda (formerlyTheresiana) or Maryknoll. Only now, asI am writing this, do I figure it’smostly because it would seem most Theresiansare not into the party scene. These arethe types who bury themselves in someobscure activity looking to findmeaning or relevance in even having her nailsdone. I don’t think it’s that much ofan exaggeration. Think. Our brotherclasses of choice were mostly from the Ateneo(you know – the guys whose cheersduring basketball games are in latin and itsattempts to compete with UST’sotherwise household-wordable "Go USTE! GoUSTE!!"). During the same year’s alumni dance reunion of the La SalleGreenhills a couple of months ago they announced that "all girls from the same batch from Assumption, St. Scho, Poveda and Maryknoll were invited to attend." I heard my co-organizers grunt in dismay – and that was it. One fine day I thought, "it’s time togive back" and actually do something about it. I had small projects in mindwhen I called up the alumni association. Fast forward, a few weeks later, it was just about the same time the batch was preparing for its jubilee. I still think I bit off more than I could chew. Just the same I had to gulp it down. My grand dream was to have a spread on St.Theresa’s College and tell everyone about the school with quality graduates who hardly socialize. And what better way to re-introduce the school than through its graduates? See? I was right. Most of the Theresians you will meet have been introduced into society not necessarily because of their surnames or social pedigree but because of their accomplishments. The task I inflicted myself with was to get together graduates in a list the school had in its drawers. While mostTheresians are unsung heroes in theirown accomplishments with not as much ofan audience to applaud, many, Idiscover, do have the world as their stage. I was speaking with Ms. Owen deCastro, one of our teachers in 4th yearhigh, "Why they should be shouting tothe world they’re from STC." Sr. Jo Nebres, the present high school principal, agreed."

***Well, well. Korina Sanchez isn't all bad after all. Thank you for lifting my already damaged Theresian spirit caused by endless criticism and deragatory sentences thrown to us. Let your light shine, ladies.

Just when I thought having to wear glasses is bad enough, I thought wrong.

Last weekend, I was literally bedwridden. I couldn't sit nor stand up. Because if I did, I would've stumbled over and cracked my head. I was dizzy basically. But it's not the usual headache I instantly feel when Mrs.Blanco enters the classroom! Surprisingly, it's worse. Soooo much worse.

Mama Eyang, my mighty nurse Tita, kept asking me a lot of stuff just to know what is the cause of my discomfort.

"Hmm. Baka anemic ka."

"May lagnat ka ba?"

"Kumakain ka ba?! Baka nag didiet ka!"

Very funny. Hahaha! But I felt that the problem are my eyes. So Dad went with me to our Optamologist. She checked my eyes again and what do you know? My current grade is 100 left and right. But when she checked my eyes, it shot up to a whopping 160-170! Oh maaan. I felt so old man. Now, I really can't take my glasses off! Woe is me.

Guys, our tickets for STC's annual Bandfest just came in and we're selling 'em!

What: STC's Annual BANDFEST
When: February 8, 2008
Where: HS Covered Court
Price: P60 (Oo na, tumaas ng sampung piso pero sulit naman. Promise.)

Wala pa masyado akong pang-akit na mga banda for y'all but according to Ms.Victoria Almazan, 3rd year level rep, Bloomfields apparently said yes to us. Yey! AND-- if you were there on our last year's Bandfest, you would know that Kjwan ditched us that night. Bummer. I guess they got conscience 'cause they were the ones that called us and said they'd be glad to perform for this year's Bandfest. Mahusay.

I FEEL LIKE I'M IN THE REAL WORLD INSIDE STC.
I'm lamenting. The dirty politics, especially. I know I can't just march to the Principal's Office or YPMO and shout to them my opinions about our school's reputation gradually deteriorating because they've instilled too much discipline in my system for me to actually have the guts to do that. It's sad that the school that molded me to the way I am today is turning out to be like this. And the worst part is, no one's doing anything about it. And it's just lately that I felt as if everything they're teaching us, they don't live out. They talk non-stop about being righteous and living out justice but why aren't we feeling that those two factors are'nt present inside the school? They contradict the values they try so hard for us to acquire. Nonetheless, I'm still not losing hope for this wonderful institution. I want change, Theresians. Who's up with me?

Do you know how weird it is to hear you name said by your teacher more than 30 times in a period?

I have.

Science Research. SIr Macky. Topic: Statistics.

We were discussing about Mean Deviation and some sigma shit I can't even remember now and we're going to have a quiz next week. So Sir kept on saying continuously in one sentence, MEAN. So yeah, medyo si Min ako.

"First of all, we will look for the MEAN, after getting the MEAN in the MEAN deviation, we can now look for... But of course, we will use the MEAN to substitute it..."

I swear man. I glanced up thinking he was calling me more than 10 times.

The culprit.

11/9/07

Where shall I start putting everything that happened today into words? I wonder... Aha! I know. Let's start from the beginning shall we?

Apparently, this morning, we had this mass for the dead. In the covered court, ORIGINALLY, I was seated next to Bea and Avery. but of course, knowing us, you'll know it's suicidal if you tell us to shut our mouths for a whole hour. So we did our routine of babbling and laughing. Don't get me wrong, ok? I respect the Holy Mass because it's the highest form of prayer..or whatever. But when I'm seated to these two, damn. They're temptations, man. So in the middle of the mass, Mrs.Blanco made me exchange seats with Cy. Funny. It's my first time to actually experience that. It was also funny seeing an American/German/English priest trying hard to speak in the same language as we do.

After that mass, Me and Cel had this idea of remixing a song and making it Tagalog. Cel suggested, who else's song? Akon's 'I Wanna Love You'. We actually made 2 versions of it.

So again, Sir DM left us with a bunch of Seatwork and I'm the only onw who finished it. Hindi ako mayabang. Kasi puro kagaguhan nakalagay dun. We were also making dance steps to Backstreet Boy's 'Everybody' for the Sportfest/Palaro tomorrow. It was helluh funny cause our steps had name. For example: Sprinkler, DJ...

English period was alloted for Media lecture thingy. We were talking about how to view films in class, critiquing a film and such. We were on the part wherein we're talking about Fantasy films.

Ms.Whoever: Fantasy films are not only seen on the big screen. They're also in Primetime. We have Kokey, Zaido(?)..

*silence*

Min: LASTIKMAN!

*laughs*

Of course, litaw na litaw nanaman boses ko. Ang boring kasi eh. And hello????? Tama naman ang Lastikman diba? Heto pa. She named a lot of films and would always assume that we've watched it already. I mean, duh, who haven't seen "ANAKAN MO AKO"? I mean, come on. That's like the most moving film I've watched.

Okay. I have no idea what the hell that is, when it wa s made and more so, the actors who are part of the cast. Like I care.

During the afternoon, it was time for DEATH. I mean, getting of cards. I didn't get my card 'cause Dad was too sick to go to STC and pay my tuition. Bummer. So that means I won't be able to get my card. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Outstanding Students in III3 (2nd Quarter)

Cyrene Tan

Michelle Yu

Avery Anatalio

Natalie Agustin

Gabrielle Calma

Mabubuting tao kayo. Mga IDOL as I would like to refer to them. First of all, I would like to give a shout out to Ms.Avery Anatalio for doing a superb job. Kasi naman behavior lang problema. Buti naman and the teachers thought you've improved this quarter and now you're a frckin' OS! Mahusay, Ave :)

And-- Ang aking martyr seatmate, Ms. Michelle Yu. For everyone to know, she had Dengue the week before our exams. She has missed tons of lectures, lessons and requirements. Who would've known she'd end up as an OS?

Well, actually, kaming lahat. Haha.

While she was on the hospital, she did all her requirements and succesfully accomplished them. She missed the Mastery Test and some of the Periodical Exams. When she came back from the hospital, she got bruises all over her body from all the blood tests, I suppose. You'd think she will do just alright but no. She still yopped our Algeb exam. Basta, Mimi Yu, I am your zealot.

Sorry narin for being madaldal and ma-epal. :))

Bring it on 3rd quarter!

Last Monday, it was Cel's birthday. She was nowhere in sight that morning in school because while we're stuck in school, she's in Boracay. She was still a no show during Tuesday. BTW, we did NADA during Backpackers meeting. THEY cooked while I do my usual thing of sitting in the corner watching them and would consistently yawn from time to time and ranting to Den about how boredom can kill and in that moment, I was bored. Period.

Ate Charina is the man. She ate the fats of the barbecue for us to have the meat. Aw, shucks. :) And I am currently taking her advice of reading the Thesaurus. Seriously. I took it out last night and read it 'til I fell asleep. Did nonsense with Den while some were cooking. We were holding knives and would dice, mince, julliene the potato skins. As in, shit. Pag walang magawa, maghiwa ng balat ng patatas. Basta laughtrip talaga yung 'cooking show' namin ni Den. We were making fun pa of how they would do their magic trick. As in kakalagay palang ng batter sa pan, tapos biglang may kukuhanin na ibang pan, 'And there you have it!' =)) Ayos ah! Hahahaha=)) Eto pang si Cel, dagdag sa kabaliwan ko yesterday. It was Religion pd. She was one of the Prayer Leaders. She went in front holding her Bible. May perk rin pala when you're in first row. Biglang sabi, 'Anong page?' Hahahaha! Sige Cel. Maghanap ka ng page sa Bibliya.

Then during Lunch..

Den: Min, may sasabihin sa'yo si Leah.

Min: *to Leah* Ano yun?

Leah stands up, looking all serious.

Leah: Nahihiya ako eh!

Min: Ano ba! Go na. Tell me.

Leah: *whispers to my ear* JJAMPONG.

Holy.Macarroni.Bentang benta talaga sakin!!!!!!!!!!!! As in I was on the bleachers rolling while laughing my head off! Well, if some don;t knokw what Jjampong is, it's the stupid noodles. Where it's TV ad emulates Koreanovelas and the Chinese dude didn't say anything throughout the commercial but 'JJAMPONG' and he says it as 'Jamffong' MORE FUNNY!!!! =)) So there. When the laughs settled, I suddenly remembered this prank my parents did to me during All Soul's Day. So I practiced this little stint on Cel first. It worked. Plus- bentang benta sa kanya. Now she's emulating me. She was on the bleachers laughing so hard. We did it again to leah for revenge and we achieved it!! Bwahahaha =)) Benta rin kay Leah so double kudos for me! After Lunch, it was like a free period so we did out magics on everyone. Steph! Haha. Of course, epal ni Karla. Nung siya na yung nag joke, CORNEH na :)) Love you Karla.

Getting of cards will be tomorrow.

I'm screwed.

Imma buy you a drank. =))

Manila Hotel baybe.

Fallout Boy Concert!!!

Happy Birthday Cel! :)

Dad never ceases to amzaze me.

I went down to the living room and I see him watching the tube.

Dad: Min, nakikinig ka sa emo?

Min: Ha? Anong emo?

Dad: Tignan mo *points to the TV*

Turns out, he was watching Jessica Soho's show talking about emo kids and suicude attempts.

Min: Ahh..*Laughs* Dad, I am so not emo.

Dad: Oo. Dapat lang. Mga nag ssuicide pala yan. Yung mga maraming eyeliner.

Min: Hahaha! Oh, Dad.

11/3/07

Yesterday, for the second time this week, me and my cousins went to GH. Before we went to Auntie margie's house, Dad gave me P1,500 for my shopping money. Take note, that RARELY happens so you can just imagine me acting so excited and just imagining everything I'm going to buy with that hefty amount of money(for me). But then, it was Ate's turn:

Dad: O Ana, eto 12 thousand.

Ana: Okay. Thanks Dad.

Min: *What the?! OBVIOUSLY, I KNOW WHO YOUR FAVORITE DAUGHTER IS!*

But then I later on learned that she was going to buy a new phone. One of the other installments for our debut gift for her. So of course, I understood everything now. They just wait for the things I will ask from them when I turn 18. Hahaha :))

When we're already in Auntie Margies house, Den texted me and told me she was already outside our house. She was supposed to borrow my copy of 'Dayuhan' because apparently, she lost the last page of her copy. Everyone was already going in the car when that happened but I still went out the house RAN (Den, I ran for you demmet.) all the way from my Aunt's house to my house. But then she left already so I had to run again.

SHOPPING REALLY MAKES ME HAPPY. Swear. There's just something about purchasing that I love. I bought 2 striped shirts (which now gives me a sum total of 8 striped shirts that I own. Or MORE.) and this cuute jacket I have been eyeing on for quite sometime now. Everyone of us bought an item or two so let's just say we're satisfied. Then it was Ate's turn to buy her phone. I love her phone! It's a Nokia 6300. *sigh* Then next month, Mum and Dad are going to give her an iPod or a camera. Shitty.

Going home was the fun part. I would sing so loud even if I don't know what the song is, try to dance even if I'm between Pat and Ate and we'd all crack jokes everytime. Why does everyone I was with that day tend to ask Ate:

"Ana, bakit ang kulit ng kapatid mo?!"
But she would just shrug it off and answer a simple: Ewan ko ba diyan sa pinsan niyo.
Hahaha :)) Mahusay.
I also sang them the Pinoy version of Don't Matter by Akon which I origially heard from Celline Santos! Benta talaga yun. Poreber. You know the intro part where they would always say: 'Convict..' You know that? In the Pinoy version, it was 'Cornbeef..' SHET na yan oh =)) XD
Here the lyrics for the chorus. As in sa 'Nobody wanna see us together...'
Orig: Nobody wanna see us together, but it don't matter no (cause I got you babe)
Pinoy: Pag tayo'y nagsasama together, pinapahiya mo ako (sa ibang tao) 2x
Hay nako. Currently wishing to have a new phone.

11/1/07

Dragged myself out of bed at 6 in the morning to go to the cemetery. The plain thought of having to squeeze myself in the countless number of people under the Philippine sun wasn't very pleasing. But then I thought of my dead relatives and I just know I had to go because my so called 'conscience' will do its work which is to make me feel like crap until I give up.

I was with my cousins and my Titas when we went to Manila North Cemetery. Supposedly, we were to claim the 8 baskets of orchids my Titas ordered from this so called 'During'. So we stopped by the front gate and my Titas are searching all over for the During girl whatever along the strip of flower vendors. They seem to be having a hard time so we had to ask this flower vendor:

Auntie: May kilala po ba kayong During dito?

Vendor: Po? Matagal na pong wala dito yun.

*Auntie walks off to look again leaving me and my cousins there in the midst of the beloved vendor*

Vendor: Sino ulit hinahanap niyo?

(Naks naman. Bilis makalimot ni Manang.)

Min: During po. Kinausap po siya ng Mom ko and Tita ko isang araw.

Vendor: Matagal na siyang wala... Matagal na siyang..patay.

Cousins and ME: *stares at each other* Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttt!

Shit talaga. If she's dead, then who's the During my Mom and Tita talked to and ordered 8 baskets of orchids?? Oooh. Creeepy.

Anyways, Tita ordered from a different vendor along the strip. So when everything was done, we all had to carry 2 bakets of orchids each person.

Guard: *looks at me and my cousin holding the flowers* Walang bomba yan ah? *laughs*

Cousin: Wala po!

Min: Yan ang alam niyo. *stares him in the eye and walked away*

Bomba my ass.

Soooooo, after smelling all odors god has made, screamed at the top of my lungs when someone steps on my foot, and adored the food stalls we woud pass by, we arrived in our spot. Haha. Spot amp. So we saw Tito Tony there already with his maid and a small kid. Turns out, he is my nephew. He is sooooo cute. He was almost the same height as me but then I learned he was only a 1st grader. Fuckshit. In time, we're the only ones who talked since we're the only kids left at one point. I was playing WWE in Mara's PSP , SEGWAY: That was the first time I played WWE and I won!!!!! Pagbigyan. Mababaw ako. Anyways, we were sitting together and he was acting like my little coach beside me.

"Press the 'X' button! Get the steel chair and smack it on his face!! Hahaha!"

Puta. High si gago. Haha. Joke. After that, I let him try it. While playing, I asked him about his arm which is in a cast. Apparently, he rarely speaks Tagalog so I had to bleed and suffer and talk to him in English.

Min: What happened to your arm?

Nephew: Soccer.

Min: You play soccer? Cool!

Nephew: Yes. I'm a varsity in Ateneo. We're going to join in Alaska Cup.

Min: Wow! I'm planning to take soccer lessons too. During summer, I mean.

Nephew: There's AFC in Ateneo! Join there so we can see each other during summer.

Min: That's where I'm planning to join. I'll try :)

It was fun bonding with him. He was a funny little guy. He talked about the time wherein he saw 2 guys kissing each other in one of his soccer games and reffered to it as 'Eewwy!', talked more about his WWE moments where taken from his words, "There was this time where I made hubad the girl and I kissed her. Hihihihi!" He was referring about the game ah? Haha! Dirty minds. He's just effin' 7 years old. He's so conyo. Ang funny.

Ay, oo nga pala. Before I forget. Mara, the typical OS Theresian, brought along her schoolwork. Of course, being the older cousin, I would jump in and help a younger cousin in need. But then I saw this little paper that they had to answer. It read out, 'Algebra'. Napasabi ako, 'Sa dinami daming subjects, Algebra pa. Biology nalang!! I love Punnet Sqaures!!'

Pero tinulungan ko parin siya. We answered most of the questions there together with Ate Ana. I guess it was a funny sight seeing Me, Mara and Ate Ana on the floor looking all serious while my other cousins were playing PSP, laughing their heads off and doing other stuff.

Kuya Jok: Ganyan ba mga Theresians? Hahaha! Para kayong tanga diyan.

I don't know, really. Though I loathe, abhor, and curse Algebra or any Math related subjects, I like the feeling of TRYING to solve them.

So, later on, Me and Mara continued me and my cousins' tradition of collecting melted candles and selling them. After a hard day's work, we succesfully gathered 4 kg of melted candles and earned us a hefty P30! Haha =)) We were like screaming up and down shouting, "We're riiiiich! Yehey!!"

So, to end things, I stayed in the cemetery until 4pm. Demmet.
