I'm dying to explain my heart to you now.

Sorry blogs readers. Lately, I have been preoccupied with a handful of things. But the main time eater is, hands down, Review. No, not summer review like the ones that the failing students get. Haha! Ours is for the upcoming College Entrance Exams for us Seniors. And I'm doing it in Ateneo. Commuting's the only thing I whine about.

Anyhoo, let's shift topic.

May. The time of the year where it starts to rain. The last leg of summer, enrollment time, and of course, my birthday. There's not much difference than last year's though. Except my parents are making a big deal out of it because in their words, "Our bunso's turning Sweet Sixteen!" I, swear to the heaven's above, can't find the essence and importance of a girl turning sixteen. If I was turning 18, then I'd understand them. But sixteen? Geeeeeeeeez.

Since Mom's out of the country, and I know she's feeling bad about not being here to celebrate it with me, she's making it up by consistently asking me what I want to do on my 'special day'. And everytime she asks me, I have said this to her a million times:

"I don't know. Why can't I just do it like every year? Just stay here in the house?"

AND THEN she'll start preaching about how I'm turning SIXTEEN. Mom, I am aware I will be turning sixteen. Thanks for the added info.

So from then on, I will answer her:

"What do YOU want to do?"

AGAIN and again, she'll suggest to have a party in our house just like Ate did when she turned sixteen. Beers and all. As tempting as it is, I objected. I'm just not feeling it. Screw it. Haha. So to shut them all up, I agreed to go out with my friends on Saturday and then celebrate with my relatives the next day. I was seriously getting fed up with them until Mom sent me a text:
"I sent you thru email yesterday a song of Hillary Duff entitled 'Sweet Sixteen' Let me know when you have received it. I love you mucho mucho." -Mom
As much as the sound of 'Hillary Duff' hurts my ears, it put a smile on my face to know that Mom's really making an effort in making my 'Sweet Sixteen' a blast.
